Preston, Conn. (WTNH) -- A fire heavily damaged a home in Preston.
The fire chief says the flames started on the outside rear of the house on Mains Way. The flames traveled up the back of the house into a second floor bedroom before finally reaching the attic.
Firefighters were able to bring it under control quickly.
No one was injured.
"Does not appear to be suspicious. I believe that we are leaning at this time toward an accidental cause," said Chief Tom Casey. "We'll be able to confirm that later."
The fire chief says the water supply was a challenge because there are no fire hydrants nearby.
They initially sent in tankers to fight the fire and then they used a hydrant about a mile away to refill them.
