HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — The state medical examiner's office says the two boys killed in a Connecticut murder-suicide each had multiple gunshot wounds.
The examiner's office says the boys' grandmother, 47-year-old Debra Denison, died of a gunshot wound to the head.
Police say Denison left a suicide note and took a revolver from her house on Tuesday before picking up 2-year-old Alton Perry and 6-month-old Ashton Perry at their day care in North Stonington. Their bodies were found in a van hours later after a frantic search.
The examiner's office on Friday confirmed homicide was the cause of death for both boys. It says the older boy died of gunshot wounds to the head and the younger boy died of multiple gunshot wounds.
A vigil for the family was scheduled for Friday evening.
