NEW LONDON, Conn. (WTNH) -- New London will hold its annual Saint Patrick's Day parade this Sunday, March 17th.
There were some concerns last year that the parade might not happen at all because organizers hadn't been able to reach an agreement with the Mayor's office over who would pay for police and other city services.
Since then a new group has taken over and local businesses are looking forward to the boost that the parade brings.
"When there was doubt earlier in the year that they might not have it, it kind of put a damper on everything," said Cliff Sebastianelli, Stone Fleet Tavern. "And being a new business we haven't been here a year yet, we were kind of looking forward to it. It's going to help us out a lot."
The parade steps off at 1 p.m. on Sunday, on Bank Street.
Governor Dannel Malloy and Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman are expected to march.
