NEW LONDON, Conn. (WTNH) -- A New London road was shut down after several windows came crashing to the pavement Wednesday night.

New London Fire Department said that a few upper level windows fell out of an abandoned building on Bank St., crashing on the sidewalk below.

Police then closed the road between Golden and State streets.

There is no word as to why the windows fell or when the road will re-open.

No one was injured during the incident.

The Building Department is investigating.
