Prospect (AP) - A Waterbury man has been convicted of second-degree manslaughter for plowing into a 14-year-old boy on his bicycle while driving at more than 80 mph.
A jury in Waterbury Superior Court found 45-year-old David Weaving guilty on Monday in the death of Matthew Kenney in Prospect last year.
State police say Weaving was driving 83 mph on Route 69 when he struck the teenager, who had ridden onto the road.
Weaving told police that he only saw the boy as he tried to pass
another car while on the way to see an ex-girlfriend. He faces up
to 10 years in prison.
