Hartford (AP) - Connecticut transportation officials have scheduled two more hearings on proposed highway tolls at the New York border and other areas after complaints from lawmakers from Fairfield County.
According to The Advocate, the additional state Transportation Strategy Board hearings will be held May 13 in Groton and May 14 in Norwalk.
The board is getting input as it decides whether to recommend to the General Assembly that the state needs to add tolls on Interstates 95 and 84 and on other roads.
Last week, state legislators from Stamford, Greenwich and other towns near the border objected to the choice of New Haven and Waterbury as sites for the hearings.
The board's chairman says the new hearings were added to give
residents another opportunity to learn about electronic tolling and
share concerns.
