Storrs (AP) - State troopers and University of Connecticut police say they made dozens of arrests during the busiest part of UConn's annual Spring Weekend festivities.

According to The Hartford Courant, state police spokesman Lt. J. Paul Vance says the majority of the 44 people arrested by state troopers through Sunday morning were not UConn students.

UConn police say they made 90 additional arrests, bringing the total well over 100 people charged with offenses ranging from interfering with police to criminal trespass.

Vance says that in addition to the arrests, 49 people were treated by medical squads and 18 were sent to area hospitals, mostly for treatment of the effects of severe intoxication.

Dozens of other people also received citations for motor vehicle infractions.

Vance says that overall, most UConn students and their guests were well-behaved at the festivities, which are part of a weekend of partying just before final exams on the Storrs campus.
