Stratford (WTNH) - Gov. Rell says a man in Stratford is one of two "probable" cases of swine flu here in Connecticut.
The second "probable" case is in Southbury, Gov. Rell said Tuesday afternoon at a press conference. There are three other "suspected" cases in East Haddam and Wethersfield.
Health officials in Stratford say the unidentified adult male is back in town with swine flu after a recent trip to Cancun, Mexico.
"There is no connection to school systems, with this individual, that's important to know," said Stratford Health Director Lisa Pippa. "This is a person who lives with the spouse and the spouse hasn't had any symptoms at all."
The town has not declared an emergency, and you won't find the sick man roaming the streets of Stratford either; he's staying put, working from home.
"This individual is very compliant, and very receptive to staying home, and has agreed to stay home, until two days after being asymptomatic," said Pippa.
Meanwhile, as folks discovered the news, many said their habits won't change.
"Not at this time, no. With two kids, we constantly wash our hands, for all reasons," said Jill Laskowski.
Samples were sent to the Centers for Disease Control to determine if it is in fact swine flu. Those results are due sometime today.
