For the better part of the last decade, Darren Kramer has been getting up dark and early with the early risers of Connecticut.

Darren has been anchoring Good Morning Connecticut and News Channel 8 @ Noon since 1998, with a couple of years off in the middle working in Chicago.

Over the last two decades, Darren has anchored and reported the news in Chicago; St. Louis; Spokane; Springfield, MA; and Wausau, WI; but Connecticut keeps calling him home.

Darren was born and raised in the woods of northern Wisconsin, in the little town of Peshtigo.  Peshtigo was the scene of America's most disastrous forest fire, the great Peshtigo fire of 1871.

Darren, his wife Jill, and their two kids Abby and Sam, live on the shoreline.

Along with spending time with his family, Darren loves the outdoors and shooting sporting clays.
