Matt grew up in South Florida, where at a young age, he developed a fascination with weather, especially Hurricanes. When Hurricane David threatened the Florida coast, and local Meteorologists would report on its track hour by hour, Matt was hooked. He'd watch the evening news every night, just to see if any other hurricanes were coming.

It was much later in life when Matt determined that he would become a Meteorologist. As a student at the University of Maryland, Matt was working behind the scenes on a talk show in Washington DC, when he started working with the morning weatherman. He was hooked, now learning the same job that he had grown up watching others perform every night. He then went back to school and got a second degree, this time pursuing Meteorological studies at Mississippi State University.

Since his days in Washington, Matt has worked as a Meteorologist in West Virginia, Mississippi, and North Carolina. Along the way, Matt's knowledge and experience helped earn him both the AMS and NWA Seals of Approval for his weather forecasting.

Now, many years after watching local Meteorologists in Florida report on Hurricanes, Matt proudly gets to do the same for viewers in Connecticut. Even if hurricanes don't come to New England that often, the diverse climate and weather here keep Matt on his toes twelve months a year. And because of his knowledge and experience, he's regularly called on by CNN and The Weather Channel to file reports for national audiences.

When Matt isn't forecasting for Storm Team 8, Matt loves to cook, play poker, travel, and he claims to be "One of the Worst Golfers Ever." If you don't believe him, invite him out on the links and see for yourself. And, Matt has one other passion...he's a huge game show fan! Matt has a large collection of game show board games, memorabilia,  and photos. He even was a contestant on "The Weakest Link" !  It was quite a memorable experience. He was on national television when he stopped the game just to propose marriage to his girlfriend! She accepted, and now, many years later, they are the proud parents of 2 beautiful young children.
