New London (WTNH) - About 150 restaurants will be participating in Connecticut's Restaurant Week. News Channel 8 visited a couple restaurants along the shoreline for a preview of what they'll be serving up.

The food business seems to slow down along the shoreline around this time of year, especially in this economy. So for restaurants like the Cove Clam Shack in Mystic, it's the perfect time to join the first-ever statewide event.

"Anything you can do this time of year is a big benefit," said Jason Brayman of the Cove Clam Shack.

For just $20.08, you can get a taste of what eateries across Connecticut have to offer.

"It's a three course meal that comes with appetizer, dinner and also dessert," said Amy Mase from the Bulkeley House.

The Bulkeley House in New London are going above and beyond the standard offer. The three course meal goes for about $10 and they'll extend the offer through the holidays.

"We're trying to get as many people in as possible to come out and eat," Mase said.

The idea behind Restaurant Week is not only to get people in the door to try the special dishes but it's to get people to come back and try things on the rest of the menu. At the Cove Clam Shack they're hoping people will also discover things have changed. No longer just a summer shack, the restaurant is open year round with indoor seating.

"A lot of people have come here before when it was just a fish market and maybe they haven't been back since then so get to see what we offer now," Brayman said.

Restaurant Week runs November 16-22.
