Guilford (WTNH) - The Spencer family in Guilford is getting a design wish after taking in four children who have special needs.

Pouring juice, packing back packs and putting on shoes is all part of the morning chaos in the Spencer home. This daily grind is compounded for parents Brian and Beth who adopted four children with special needs.

"They're 6,000 kids in the state of Connecticut in foster care. It's really not that hard, they give you more love than you would have ever thought," said Beth Spencer.

Their compassion has won them a Design Wish. Lisa Leonardi dreamt up the idea two years ago as a way to give back.

"Their story touched our hearts," Lisa said.

The Spencer's living room will be made over. A team of 50 will be creating a relaxing space and only has two days to do it.

"The transformation is gonna be pretty awesome," said Lisa.

Brian and Beth say they never thought about decorating because they were too busy living their other dream.

"We're excited to see what they're gonna do," Beth said.
