Hebron (WTNH) - A clean-up crew was hard at work in Hebron after a summer camp was destroyed by vandals.
The damage to Camp Hi Hoti was discovered Thursday by the caretaker. The camp, that serves Hartford youth, hopes to open up as scheduled in June, but it's going to take a lot of work and money.
More than half a dozen buildings were hit, from the lodge, to the dining hall, to the art center and the bunk houses. The vandals even broke into the garage and put the lawn tractor into the pool.
"Every last window in the lodge has been busted open, it's like, over 50 windows. The walls were kicked in, the arts and craft building has been destroyed," said Lynn Ford, Hartford Neighborhood Centers.
Not only did the vandals smash windows, they also discharged fire extinguishers in the buildings.
"This one has been the largest one we've seen in a long time but yeah, it's unfortunately, you see a lot of stuff like this happen. It's unbelievable. It's sad to see," said Doug Boughton, Clean Sweep.
As State Police try to track down the vandals, Doug and his Clean Sweep crew clean up their mess.
