New Haven (WTNH) - Instead of battling the crowds, many people people look online for those holiday deals.

This holiday shopping season we've seen retailers pull out all the stops and offer deep discounts, knowing consumers have less money to spend.

Retailers are hoping that by advertising special deals, strapped shoppers will turn on their computers and point and click their way through the busiest online shopping day known as Cyber Monday.

"Retailers are constantly testing where's that magic price point that's going to get you to look at something versus look and buy something," said Marshal Cohen, NPD Chief Industry Analyst.

Some web sites are making it easier to find the best deals. CyberMonday.com has links to a variety of retailers and their sales.

According to the National Retail Federation Survey, 172 million people shopped at stores or online from Friday to Sunday - that's up 7.2-percent from last year.
