New Haven (WTNH) - As gay couples in Connecticut celebrate the right to marry, they
also rallied against the reversal of gay marriage in California.
Demonstrations in New Haven and Hartford are part of the
fight against Proposition 8. The measure, which voters in
California passed on Election Day, denies marriage to same sex
couples.
Until that vote, gay couples in California had the right to
marry based on a Supreme Court ruling.
Protestors say the recent vote in California is
discriminators, but opponents say marriage should only be between a
man and a woman.
