Oscar noms with ties to Conn.

(WTNH) - Thanks to tax incentives enacted a little more than two years ago, Connecticut has become the place for movie making. Five movies with ties to Connecticut are nominated for Oscars. 

The political drama Frost/Nixon is up for five Oscars and was edited in Connecticut.

The director of Rachel Getting Married, Jonathan Demme, was awarded an honorary degree from Wesleyan University in 1990.

Revolutionary Road reunites Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio for the first time since their blockbuster movie Titantic. The movie is up for three Academy Awards and showcases Beacon Falls, Darien, Fairfield, Shelton, Thomaston and Trumbull.

The animated feature film Wall-E is up for six Oscars and the character "John" was voiced by Bridgeport native, John Ratzenberger.
