Bridgeport (WTNH) - The body of a 29-year-old man was found at Seaside Park in Bridgeport, where the Gathering of the Vibes concert has been taking place, police said Sunday morning.
The deceased man was found in the middle of a large campsite,
where many concert goers were staying all weekend.
Police say they're looking into reports that someone dumped
the body and drove off, but a city spokeswoman said the death
doesn't appear to be the result of foul play.
"Based on the information available to us at the moment, the situation appears to be medical and not criminal, although there is an investigation that will continue," said Bridgeport Police Chief Joseph Guadett.
"It saddens me and I know it saddens the Chief and the Mayor but we continue forward," said Ken Hayes owner of Gathering of the Vibes.
Authorities say they found multiple state identification cards
with the same name, but none from Connecticut. Police are
withholding the man's name until after they notify his family.
"Vibes" is a massive concert featuring headliners Crosby,
Stills and Nash that attracts tens of thousands of people during
each of its four days in Bridgeport. Today is the last day of the
event, which began on Thursday.
