New London (WTNH) - Students at Connecticut College are taking more steps to make the campus greener.
The whole idea behind the project is to make the campus and eventually the world a greener and more environmentally friendly place.
Seven students have taken on the challenge of an independent study.
They have set up this wind feasibility tower on campus to test how much wind is in the area to see if it is feasibility for the school to use wind as an energy resource.
"Even beyond the direct energy it would provide we hope to really show that wind is a viable energy source, but it's also a good way to bring classes out here to show that right now there is so much wind and so much energy that could be generated from that wind," said Tyler Dunham a student.
The students are hoping to show that they indeed have enough wind for a small turbine on campus hopeful in the next few years.
