(WTNH) - An expanding peanut butter recall may limit your choices as you
pack your child's lunch this morning.
The state Department of Consumer Protection is urging consumers
to avoid all peanut butter products. That's because peanut butter
tainted with salmonella has sickened about 500 people in 43 states.
Most who became sick ate products containing peanut butter, not by
eating it straight out the jar.
The tainted peanut butter has been tracked back to the Peanut
Corporation of America, a distributor in Georgia.
As a result, many companies that product products containing
peanut butter have issued recalls.
