Stamford (WTNH) - Memorial services were held in Stamford today for the 9-11 widow, Beverly Eckert, killed in the plane crash near Buffalo.

Eckert was killed when the Continental commuter plane crashed into a house near an airport in upstate New York.

Eckert had become an advocate for other people affected by the 9-11 attacks. She even volunteered for other causes including Habitat for Humanity.

"She called our manager to inquire about getting involved, in typical Beverly Eckert fashion. Soon she was volunteering 4 days a week building homes in Bridgeport."

Eckert was among 50-people killed when plane crashed last month.
