WWE Executive Linda McMahon confirmed to State Board of Education.

WWE chief exec. on State Board of Ed.

    The chief executive of Stamford-based World Wrestling Entertainment has grabbed a spot on the State Board of Education.

    Linda McMahon was nominated by Governor Rell to a seat on the 11-member board.

    Some lawmakers expressed concern about the message of appointing someone from the WWE and the violence associated with it.

    Still, McMahon was approved by a vote of 96 to 45 by the house. The Senate approved her by a vote of 34 to one earlier this month.
