Wallingford (WTNH) - Football fans gathered in Wallingford Friday night to kick off the 16th annual United Way NFL Player's Weekend.
The biggest draw of the night - rookie sensation Joe Flacco of the Baltimore Ravens.
"I mainly came here to meet Joe Flacco and the United Way is a great cause," said Toulant Malo of Watertown.
Guests were able to mix and mingle with the players, get some autographs, take pictures and bid on auction items. Money raised at the event will benefit the United Way of Meriden and Wallingford.
Matt Sherry of the Cincinnati Bengals enjoys giving back to the community and meeting some of his youngest fans.
"The best part of something like that, especially when there's young kids running around - that's the best part," Sherry said.
The events continue Saturday with a Youth Clinic at the Wallingford Parks and Recreation Department beginning at Noon. Saturday at 6pm, you have the chance to bowl with the pros at the Wallingford Lanes on North Colony Road.
