Waterbury (WTNH) - Over 6,000 businesses and residents were without power in Waterbury for a short time Thursday afternoon.
Police say they were flooded with phone calls around 2:30 p.m. They say power was out from South Elm Street to Watertown Avenue.
Connecticut Light & Power says there were problems at a substation on Freight Street.
Waterbury Hospital was forced to use its generator and send trauma patients over to nearby Saint Mary's Hospital.
Power was restored by 3:30 p.m.
