(WTNH) -- When you're hungry your stomach starts to growl. What if you felt like that all of the time? Children who are hungry have difficulty learning. Rich DiGirolamo of Wolcott is trying to help families here and across the country get food with his virtual "Double D Diner".

This is how it works. You go online and order a meal that you don't eat. The cost of the meal goes into a kitty and that money then goes to agencies to help the poor.

"It's really soup kitchens, food pantries or food banks," DiGirolamo said. "Small ones, like for instance one of the recent ones we visited in Illinois, these people feed about 2,200 people last year and they've actually had to turn away people. The economy is so tough, it's terrible, so this can really help. And you can go online DoubleDDiner.org , or onelessmeal.org , takes you to the same place.

"And you have so much fun and this says open 24 hours, which of course it is, and I love the concept, but where do you need help in carrying out your mission to really feed the hungry?

"It's interesting because we need a corporate sponsor right now is what I'm really looking for," DiGirolamo said. "I'm out there looking for a corporate sponsor. I want to take this thing on the road."

The rest of the story here is that the money gets delivered by a kind of super-hero who has a mask. Nobody knows who he is. He arrives with the money and leaves, satisfied that less people are going hungry.
