Lebanon, Conn. (WTNH) - After a big disappointment last week students at Lebanon Middle School could only be shocked and surprised at who showed up at their school Wednesday -- members of the New England Patriots.
Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, starting center Dan Koppen, a patriots cheerleader and the team's mascot surprised the kids in an impromptu assembly.
The visit was in response to a foul up last week. Students who won the grand prize in an NFL exercise and nutrition program 'Fuel Up to Play 60' had thought a Patriots player would visit them. An intern showed up instead.
When Patriots owner Robert Kraft found out he felt he had to do something, so the team set up a secret assembly. This time each kid went home with a Patriots hat.
