HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- Another big step Tuesday in the massive education reform in Connecticut.
One thousand new early education slots were announced for this fall, including 130 in Bridgeport, 53 in New Haven, 50 in Norwalk, 51 in Waterbury and 64 in Hartford.
"I think we did a pretty good review to understand what each community's capacity was, what could actually be gotten up and running by October 1st," said Governor Dannel Malloy, "and we tried to match the information we got from the communities with the 1,000 slots we were able to assign and I feel pretty good about it. I feel very good about it."
In all, 38 communities will get new slots. Click here to see the full list.
