New Haven, Conn. (WTNH) - News 8's Chief Political Correspondent Mark Davis sits down with Mayor John DeStefano for an exclusive edition of "Ask the Mayor."

The mayor made waves when he proposed allowing illegal immigrants the right to vote.

Read the story here.

News 8's viewers sent in dozens of questions, including Anna in New Haven, who called in to our Voice of the People hotline to ask, "I would like the mayor to explain his definition of 'illegal.'"

Wayne in Branford said, "I would like to know, Mr. Mayor, why you didn't bring up this idea prior to the election? Because I think the backlash may have had a different effect than what actually happened."

Watch Mayor DeStefano's response to these questions and more.
