MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (AP) — Democratic Senate candidate Susan Bysiewicz (BY'-suh-wits) is launching her first TV ad in the campaign, touting her efforts as a former state lawmaker.
The spot is scheduled to begin running on broadcast stations on Saturday. Her campaign manager Jonathan Ducote (Doo KOH' tee) said it will continue to run for two weeks and will cost the campaign about $200,000.
Ducote said the former Secretary of the State plans to continue running ads until the election. She is challenging the endorsed Democratic candidate, U.S. Rep. Chris Murphy, in an Aug. 14 primary.
Bysiewicz's ad features a woman who had a mastectomy seven years ago. She praises the former state representative for co-sponsoring a bill in 1997 that required her insurer to cover additional time she spent in the hospital following her surgery.
