Hartford, Conn. (AP) - Connecticut Gov. M. Jodi Rell says the state has received more than $14 million in federal aid for residents affected by severe flooding and storms in March.
President Barack Obama declared portions of southwestern and southeastern Connecticut major disaster areas after the storms. High winds and heavy rainfall damaged homes and businesses in Fairfield and New London counties.
Rell said on Friday that more than $3 million has been given in public assistance and $6 million in loans to businesses. Another $5 million have gone to affected households.
