HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Music will be on state lawmakers' minds at a public hearing on whether to establish an official state polka and a second state song.

The Government Administration and Elections Committee is set to hear those proposals and several others beginning at 11 a.m. Monday at the Legislative Office Building in Hartford.

Ansonia Rep. Linda Gentile has introduced a bill naming the "Ballroom Polka" as the state polka.

Newington Rep. Sandy Nafis and Wethersfield Sen. Paul Doyle have submitted a bill to name "Beautiful Connecticut Waltz" by Joseph Leggo of Newington as the second state song.

"Yankee Doodle" is now the official state song.
