New Haven, Conn. (WTNH) - If you still haven't done it yet, today is the last day you can register to vote in Connecticut.
You could decide the fate of the entire legislative branch of the federal government if you sign up to vote. That's how big this election is.
You have until 8 p.m. today to register. Lots of people have already. The Secretary of the State says almost 59,000 people registered so far this year, meaning more than 2 million Connecticut residents are registered.
Of those 59,000, about 12,000 registered as Republicans, 20,000 as Democrats and almost 26,000 are unaffiliated.
It's easy. Go down to your local city or town hall and sign up. But you have to do it today and you have to vote a week from today.
If you don't think this election a big deal, then you haven't been paying attention. We've got one of the biggest races in the nation right here in Connecticut, with control of the U.S. Senate at stake.
Democrats also want to hang onto all 5 Connecticut house seats, and it all comes down to what you want.
That is, if you vote. If you don't then, as they say, you've got no right to complain about what the government is doing.
