HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- The first piece of gun legislation since the tragedy at Sandy Hook is making its way through the general assembly.
The Connecticut Post reports the bill would require gun owners to have liability insurance. It would also impose a 50-percent tax on ammunition sales.
Some Republicans voiced their opposition in a committee meeting, but the Democratic majority sent the bill on its way to the Finance Committee for further action.
