HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Gov. Dannel P. Malloy has named the longtime president and CEO of the Connecticut Community Providers Association as his new liaison to the state's nonprofit health and human service agencies.
Malloy said Monday that Terry Edelstein will begin her new job on Oct. 5.
Malloy created the cabinet-level position last year as part of an effort to work cooperatively with the private, nonprofit agencies that provide myriad state services, such as group homes for people with disabilities and treatment programs for people with mental illness and addiction.
The 63-year-old Edelstein recently announced she was retiring from the community providers' trade association after 30 years.
