HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- The question after McMahon launched a new tv ad aimed at Obama voters, is whether or not McMahon is throwing Romney 'under the bus'?
Linda McMahon brought in the the heavy artillary in the form of the New Jersey Governor to pitch for independent voters.
"Whether you're a good Republican, a good Democrat, a good independent, each one of those folks has real reasons to want to support Linda McMahon," said New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.
The series of Connecticut rallies comes as the McMahon campaign is launching a new TV ad aimed at Obama voters.
The McMahon tv ad says, "I'm supporting President Obama and Linda McMahon," "I'll be voting for Barack Obama and Linda McMahon," "I'm voting for President Obama and Linda McMahon on the independent line."
In reaction State GOP chairman Jerry Labriola said "I support our Republican ticket and I'm working hard to elect Governor Romney in Connecticut. Other than that I have no comment."
News 8's Chief Political Correspondent Mark Davis asked voters, "Don't you think she's throwing Mitt Romney under the bus?"
"No, no, not at all because that isn't her intention. She's just asking people that already have their mind set for Obama that, hey, it doesn't mean you can't vote for me," Marie Krzeminski of New Haven said.
"I think she's trying to tell people that, because I'm a Republican, don't think I'm not going to vote or go along with some of the Democrats' and their ideas," Pat Scarpelli of Trumbull said.
"No because Mitt Romney's probably not going to win the state of Connecticut anyways. I mean it's all a numbers game as far as the Electoral votes are, so Mitt Romney is just not going to be strong in Connecticut," Cody McCubbin of Newtown said
