(WTNH) -- A Public Policy Polling survey on the Connecticut Senate primary race shows Republican Linda McMahon with a huge lead over Chris Shays, and Democrat Chris Murphy with a double digit lead over Susan Bysiewicz in their respective primary races.
The PPP poll shows McMahon leading Shays by 48 points, 68-20.

"GOP voters flat out dislike Shays, with only 37% rating him favorably to 40% with a negative opinion," the poll said.
For the Democrats, Murphy's lead over Bysiewicz is 17 points. "Murphy is leading with voters in every ideological group we track ... and is particularly strong with younger voters (52-25)," PPP said.
For the general election, Murphy holds an eight point lead over McMahon in the PPP survey.
