A woman in Colorado said she has a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving.

Last week, she lost a very special ring and thought she would never see it again. But, thanks to a Good Samaritan, her priceless jewelry is back where it belongs.

"It's not just a wedding ring to me, it's part of who we are," said Peggy Moore, who lost her ring. "We feel very, very fortunate to have one another."

The ring also symbolizes her family.

"The center shank has the butterfly mounted on it," said Moore.

Peggy and her mother shared something of an obsession with butterflies.

"It has more of history than just a ring someone got engaged with," said Moore.

Last week in a parking lot, however, Moore lost her ring.

"I was pretty devastated," said Moore.

Desperate, Moore raced home and searched for the lost and found section on her local paper's Web site. She posted her plea, hoping someone would be honest if they found it.

Deb Burdick, who handles web ads at the Fort Collins Coloradoan, said just minutes after Moore's note arrived, another note popped up. A woman had found the ring. Burdick called Moore and set up a meeting between the two.

"When Deb called me, I couldn't get dressed fast enough," said Moore.

The woman who found the ring did admit it was tempting to sell the ring, but said she was "touched by her better angels."

"She will always be my hero because this is such a big part of me," said Moore. "And she'll always be in my thoughts and you know, I may go have coffee with her sometime just to to reconnect. At times, I look down and still can't believe it's there."
