SOMERS, Conn. (AP) — Investigators are treating the fire that destroyed a vacant mill building in Somers as a case of arson.
Somers Deputy Fire Chief Frank Falcone Jr. says state officials believe an arsonist is to blame for the fire that struck Saturday morning at the five-story Somersville Mill.
The building is in the historic section of the borough of Somersville and once housed workers who produced clothing and fabric.
The fire left only a metal skeleton of the building that had been vacant for decades. No injuries were reported.
