VERNON, Conn. (WTNH) - A woman walking alone in a Vernon plaza parking lot found herself trying to hold on to her purse during an attempted robbery when another woman asker her for directions.
According to Vernon Police, a gray-colored minivan pulled up to the victim. A Hispanic woman inside the minivan asked the victim to come closer as she asked for directions.
As the woman walked closer to the van, the Hispanic woman grabbed onto the victim's purse. She attempted to pull it away from the victim.
A black male sitting in the driver's seat of the minivan attempted to pull away as the two woman struggled for control of the purse.
The victim was able to hold on to her purse, and the minivan fled the area.
The driver is described as a black male approximately 40 years of age, and the Hispanic female is described as being approximately 30 years old.
Vernon Police are asking anyone with information to contact Officer Hunt.
