COVENTRY, Conn. (AP) - Coventry police say a student is being treated for minor injuries after a deer crashed into the side of a school bus, shattering a window next to the girl.

Police say the incident Thursday morning occurred on Main Street as the full bus was heading toward Captain Nathan Hale Middle School and Coventry High School.

One student received a small cut on her face from the broken glass and was sent to a hospital to be evaluated, and three others were being checked by medical workers after complaining of minor neck pain.

Traffic was backed up for part of Thursday morning around the site as emergency crews responded, but cleared up later and the students continued on to school.
