Man dies in Mansfield car crash

    Mansfield, Conn. (WTNH) - A man was killed after crashing into a tree in Mansfield Sunday morning.

    The accident happened around 3 a.m., on Route 89, near the Ashford town line.

    Police said Ernesto Garcia-Lopez, 31, of 4 Oak St., Willimantic, was traveling northbound on Route 89 when his vehicle veered off the road striking a tree.

    Lopez was pronounced dead on the scene.
