Coventry, Conn. (WTNH) - A man was taken to the hospital after accidentally stabbing himself with an arrow in Coventry Sunday morning.
Coventry Police said the man was competing in an archery competition when the accident happened.
After shooting his arrows into a target, the man attempted to retrieve the arrows, pulling too hard and stabbing himself in the upper leg.
Police believe the arrow just missed hitting an artery, but say it caused a large amount of bleeding.
The man was taken to the hospital to be treated.
The extent of his injuries are unknown.
