No injuries in Conn. plane crash

MANSFIELD, Conn. (AP) - Connecticut state police say a plane has crashed into the Willimantic Reservoir shortly after taking off at a nearby airport, leaving the pilot shaken.

The pilot was the only person onboard when the plane crashed Sunday afternoon shortly after leaving Windham Airport.

State police say the pilot suffered no injuries.

Investigators from the Federal Aviation Administration were expected at the site Sunday.

Police did not immediately identify the type of aircraft involved in the crash or its owner.

There was no immediate word on what might have caused the incident.
