Pedestrian hit and killed in Stafford

Stafford, Conn. (WTNH) - Police in Stafford say a pedestrian hit by a vehicle earlier Sunday has died.

Police say 40-year John Jenkins of Stafford was hit on Orcottville road around p.m.

Police say Jenkins was standing next to a parked vehicle when a driver slammed into a parked car and hit him.

Jenkins was taken to Johnson Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Route 310 was shut down for over three hours while police investigated.

That roadway has since re-opened.
