VERNON, Conn. (WTNH) -- After a school bus carrying middle school students crashed on Route 30 in Vernon, officials say the driver has been suspended.
The First Student bus driver, Stacey Beaudry, has been suspended pending the outcome of a police investigation into the cause of the crash.
The crash sent 11 Vernon Middle School students to the hospital around 3 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
Beaudry was also taken to the hospital after complaining of neck pain.
Route 30/Hartford Turnpike was closed down after the bus crashed into a utility pole. A nearby apartment building briefly lost power as a result.
None of the students were seriously injured in the crash.
