STORRS, Conn. (AP) - University of Connecticut students are calling for an end to what they say is a 'rape culture' on campus where sexual assaults are tolerated and victims aren't taken seriously.

Several dozen students rallied Monday afternoon outside the Student Union. The gathering was sparked by a video shown on a student-run TV station that parodied a female student being chased by a suspected rapist. The woman tries to use a campus phone to get help, but is mocked by someone on the other end of the line.

UCTV removed the video from its website last week and apologized.

Students are calling on school officials to do more to fight tolerance of violence against women on campus.

UConn President Susan Herbst has said the TV station responded appropriately to the controversy.
