"It sounded like someone fell down or dropped something upstairs," said Matt Levesque, "the house shook. And umm I ran upstairs to check to see what my brother was doing and he said he didn't do anything. Then all of a sudden my neighbor showed up at the door and she was like, 'what happened? Did you feel that?'"
The house was leveled in the explosion.
Gerald Dube, 71, was killed in the explosion. Jacqueline Dube, 71, was transported to Hartford Hospital, where she is in critical condition. They were Coventry residents, but did not live in the home.
The homeowner, Robert Dube, 45, was treated and released from Windham Hospital.
Police say there was propane on the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
