WILLIMANTIC, Conn. (WTNH) - An arrest has been made involving the suspicious death of a three-year-old girl in Willimantic.
Athena Angeles of 112 School Street in Willimantic was transported to Windham Memorial Hospital on Wednesday while in cardiac arrest.
State Police Detectives assisted the State Police Windham Heights Task Force and the Willimantic Police in a criminal investigation.
Several people were interviewed. An autopsy concluded that Angeles died of blunt abdominal and chest trauma. The death was ruled as a homicide. The accused killer is Angeles' mother's boyfriend, Alexander Chingo Riz,24.
Riz has been taken into custody and is being held on a $1,000,000 bond. His court date is Nov.25.
