Brooklyn man drowns in Quaddick Lake

THOMPSON, Conn. (WTNH) -- A man was pronounced dead after being pulled from Quaddick Lake in Thompson Tuesday night.

Officials said a man in his 30's, from Brooklyn, CT, entered the water from private property around the lake around 6 p.m. Shortly after, witnesses saw the man struggling.

Bystanders pulled the man from the water and a local EMS unit initiated CPR. The man was then taken to Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam, where he was pronounced dead.

The incident is under investigation.

The man's identity has not yet been released.
