Fatal truck accident in Canterbury

Canterbury, Conn (WTNH) - State police are investigating an accident in Canterbury Saturday morning that has left one man dead.

Around 5:30am, state police responded to a report of a one car accident on Cemetery road. Upon arrival, troopers discovered that a 1991 Chevy pickup truck had gone down an embankment and rolled over onto its roof. The truck was in a small river, submerged in about 4 feet of water.

The driver, 24-year-old Max Anctil of Canterbury, was rushed to William Backus Hospital in Norwich where he was later pronounced dead.

The accident remains under investigation.
