Fire consumes house in Thompson

Thompson, Conn. (WTNH) - A house burned down on Breaults Lane, leaving a family of four without a home.

Around 5:00am on Sunday, firefighters responded to calls of a house fire in Thompson. When they arrived on the scene, the house was fully involved in flames. Mutual aid was requested, and units from Putnam, West Thompson and Quinebaug arrived to help put out the fire.

No injuries were reported, but a family was displaced as a result of the damage.

The cause of the fire in under investigation.

The Red Cross is assisting the family by providing temporary lodging and financial assistance.
